Willow Oak Contemporary Ballet Premiere Performance at the Manship Theater:

WOCB is back for its 2011-2012 season scheduled to begin in Baton Rouge, LA. at the Manship Theater September 16-18, 2011. The upcoming performance will include three world premieres performed by dancers from New York, Europe and Louisiana. Mark your calendars for this exciting debut!

Willow Oak Contemporary Ballet Auditions In NYC at STEPS on Broadway:

WOCB will hold auditions for its 2011-2012 Season at Steps on Broadway (www.stepsnyc.com) Saturday August 6, 2011. WOCB will be offering four week contracts to ten dancers 8/24/2011-9/18/2011 with two weeks of rehearsal in New York and two weeks in Baton Rouge, LA. Time and Studio T.B.A. Steps is located at 2121 Broadway #3, New York, NY 10023 (212)874-2410. Please bring resume and headshot. Plan to arrive thirty minutes before scheduled audition to register. Audition will consist of ballet technique, pointe (for ladies), contemporary and repertoire. Artist not living in NY should submit resume, headshot and video to Willow Oak Contemporary Ballet, ATTN: Tamu Ortenzio, Artistic Director, 10980 Laird Lane, Denham Springs, LA. 70726 by July 15, 2011. Willow Oak to host Community Outreach Workshop!

WOCB is committed to providing educational outreach services to the local community. WOCB will host a free dance workshop, open to the Baton Rouge and Denham Springs community. Classes offered will be open to all ages in ballet and jazz and is intended to be a general introduction to dance for beginning students unable to afford dance classes. Pre-registration is required and classes will be held at Jean Leigh Academy of Dance (www.jeanleighdance.com) Sunday, September 4, 2011 from 3:00pm-5:00pm.

Master Classes with Artists of WOCB:

Willow Oak Contemporary Ballet will host a master workshop with artists of WOCB in ballet technique, pointe, contemporary and modern Sunday, September 4, 2011 from 12:00pm- 6:00pm at Jean Leigh Academy of Dance (www.jeanleighdance.com) These classes are offered to intermediate to professional level dancers.
